At Longwood Stables the philosophy behind our breeding program is that "only the best is good enough". We are committed to breeding exceptional Dutch broodmares out of the best European bloodlines to approved KWPN stallions with a record of producing superior sport horses.
Our goal is to produce top quality Dutch Warmbloods that will ultimately compete at the highest levels of international show jumping. We are thrilled to announce that our 2009 colt Estrada LWS (Numero Uno keur x Nimmerdor pref x Erdball xx pref) was ranked the #1 Jumper Bred foal and Best Young Horse in Canada in 2009 by the KWPN-NA, and finished 3rd overall in North America. Estrada LWS joins his full sister Contessa LWS at the top of the rankings list as she was ranked the #1 Jumper Bred foal and Best Young Horse in Canada for the KWPN-NA in 2007.
Established in 1992, Longwood Stables is a breeding and training facility located in Osgoode, Ontario, 45 minutes south of Ottawa, the Nation’s Capital. All of our horses are handled daily, and foals are imprinted at birth. We take great pride in the individual attention and detail that we put into each and every one of our horses.
Longwood Stables is proud to be the exclusive North American agent for both the stallions of Stal Eurocommerce located in Lochem, Holland and for the stallions of de Wiemselbach, including Numero Uno, located in Ootmarsum, Holland. In 2009 we have added both Hickstead, Eric Lamaze's 2008 Olympic Gold Medal Partner, and Bratt Z, a son of Baloubet du Rouet. We work closely with all of our partners to bring North American breeders access to the top show jumping sires in the world.
